Kathia Lagacé-Nadon
Kathia Lagacé-Nadon is a Canadian contemporary artist based in Montreal, Quebec, whose multidisciplinary painting practice moves between abstraction, figuration and material experimentation. Her work explores the passage of time, memory, impermanence and the complex relationship between human experience and the fleeting nature of existence.
Through expressive gestures, layered surfaces and shifting visual languages, Lagacé-Nadon questions how we experience the present in a world increasingly defined by acceleration, distraction and the constant desire to preserve what inevitably disappears.
Rather than adhering to a single aesthetic identity, her practice evolves through distinct yet interconnected bodies of work. Figurative compositions, deconstructed abstractions and more structured explorations become different expressions of recurring emotional and philosophical concerns.
At the heart of her practice lies an ongoing reflection on absence, transformation and the passage between emotional states. Her paintings explore the tension between holding on and letting go, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with time, memory and the fragile beauty of the present.
